Laser hire should not be trusted to light and sound companies that buy their lasers from China and that do not comply with American safety requirements and use lighting technicians and crew who have no training in laser technology, laser safety and laser set-up. It is just completely dangerous.

Laser technicians need to be trained in the art of the laser and laser safety and in programming do’s and don’t so that you as the end user may have the best show possible and the best value for money and achieve your desired results.
We at Argon Animation Inc always request a meeting with the directors, clients and head of lighting so that we can co-ordinate laser position, laser programming and other laser effects well in advance of the show so that no last minute surprises occur.
Lasers are a special effects and therefore should not normally be used all of the time. Just like everything else the audience will get bored if they are used all the time and we recommend a few short sharp dramatic uses of the lasers rather than long term use.
Audience scanning can be irritating (and dangerous if not done correctly) to the eyes and we normally set up our lasers so that the scans are above head height unless the effect is specially designed for audience scanning.
Mirrors and mirror balls should be carefully placed and locked in position so that no 1st generation single beams can possible go into the audience even by accident.
Lasers are now generally driven by low current power, but care still needs to be taken and the electrical supply needs to be a no go zone for the public.
Lasers should never be placed so low that anyone can look directly into the laser. It can damage the eyes at close distance in the blink of an eye.
